I'm Michelle Halsall. I take photographs, I write, and I simply am.
Beyond the Static is where my creative life lives: images, words, and being. What holds them together is a way of paying attention — for what's quiet, overlooked, or significant in the ordinary. A leaf and its shadow. A branch holding its ground while life moves past.
I came to this by a winding route — government programmes, businesses across several countries — and somewhere in it I learned that the things worth doing are the ones done slowly, and fully.
I studied Creativity Theory, History and Philosophy at Cambridge; I'm also a Reiki Master and a trained Yin teacher.
The work is deliberate: slow, and made with care. I live in Bali, though I work anywhere.
I also offer embodied leadership coaching through Hearth. If you'd like to know me beyond this space, you're welcome there.
We live in a world full of noise, and it's getting noisier, which makes living in a state of wonderment and wisdom hard. My mission is to nurture spaces that give us room to breathe, rise above the noise and enjoy fulfilling lives.
